Important take-way.
Each day and week of the pandemic brings a new set of feelings and experiences. It’s difficult sometimes to relax and to focus. Yet life moves along.
Through our analysis, Karen and I dug deeper than simply a quantitative data summary. We discovered a curious pattern among respondents, mostly nonprofit CEOs. They fell generally along this continuum.
The Resilience Continuum.
What accounts for this pattern?
All sorts of variables—such as how the respondent was feeling that day, the level of challenge the organization is experiencing, how far along the individual was in terms of processing grief and other emotions related to the pandemic, general orientation in life—may have influenced their responses.
This much is clear: those on the right side of the continuum are more optimistic, are finding ways to be creative and exert some control over their situations, and thus are becoming more resilient.
How do we know? Because their comments revealed three ingredients that produced a sense of confidence that they would generate revenue:
- They believe in the organization’s value.
- They are ready to do whatever it takes to build awareness for the mission, and
- They are committed to developing and maintaining strong relationships.
Take a look at the report to review your peers' mindsets and approaches to not only weathering this challenging time but emerging stronger and more resilient. We support you and cheer you on.
